METRO MANILA – Kinilala ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Junior ang matagal nang alyansa ng Pilipinas at Amerika.
Hindi lang sa larangan ng depensa kundi pati sa kalakalan at mga inisyatibo na nakatulong sa mga Pilipino.
Ayon kay Pangulong Marcos Junior, sa pagharap ng Pilipinas sa mga problema sa mga karagatan, mahalaga ang papel na ginagampanan dito ng Estados Unidos.
“Again, I have always said, it seems to me that the future of the Philippines and for that matter, the asia pacific, will always have to involve the United States simply because those partnerships are so strong and so historically embedded in our common psyches. It can only be an advantage to both our countries.” ani President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
Nangako naman ang US defense chief ng patuloy na tulong ng estados unidos sa Pilipinas. Partikular na para sa modernisasyon ng Armed Forces of the Philippines.
“We do have a strong relationship and my goal, and certainly President Biden’s goal is to strengthen that relationship in every way possible. You are a key ally, an important ally, and so from the defense perspective, we will continue to work together with our great partners to build and modernize your capabilities as well as increase our interoperability. We are very happy to be here once again and I look forward to have a great discussion with you.” ani US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin III.
