Hopes of a diplomatic solution anytime soon, for the civil war in Syria, that killed thousands of its citizens, was lost after the US broke off talks with Russia, on implementing a ceasefire agreed last September 9.
Syria together with Russian air power and iranian backed militia have stepped up it’s offensive against rebel held areas of Aleppo, Syria’s biggest city, bombing water suplies and hospitals. Which brought about Washington’s decision on suspending bilateral talks with Russia.
According to US intelligence officials, the recent bombings was one of the deadliest since the civil was erupted in Syria in 2011.
Any future talk between the world’s 2 super powers about diplomatic solutions for Syria is now gone, as the whitehouse indicated that there is nothing more to talk about
Syria is under a 5 1/2 year old civil war that displaced 11 million people, despite the suspension, the US and Russia would contininue to open channels to ensure that aircrafts from both country targeting islamic state positions in Syria do not come into conflict.
