METRO MANILA – Nakalaan sa 20% ng populasyon ng Pilipinas ang mga bakunang galing sa COVID-19 vaccines global access o covax facility, ang international partnership na itinatag upang matiyak ang patas na distribusyon ng COVID-19 vaccines sa buong mundo sa pangunguna ng World Health Organization (WHO) at iba pang international organization.

Pangunahing dapat mabakunahan ang mga frontline health care workers at elderly population na mataas ang banta sa coronavirus disease.

Kaya naman, patuloy na hinihikayat ng who ang gobyerno ng pilipinas na sundin ang prioritization sa Covax Facility vaccines lalo na’t kakaunti pa lang sa mga senior citizen o priority group A2 ang nababakunahan.

“It is clearly defined that the largest number of deaths and severe cases are from the A2 group and so we continue to urge the government and the local government units rolling out Covax vaccines to ensure that they follow the prioritization to maximize the impact of the vaccines donated by the Covax facility.” ani WHO Country Representative Dr. Rabindra Abeyasinghe .

Kaugnay nito, pinuri naman ng who ang vaccination rollout sa bansa.

Kusunod ito ng paglagpas sa Four Million doses administered sa loob ng kulang 3 buwan.

“And given that, the performance has been very creditable and commendable. We are encouraged by what we are seeing, we recognize that there have been a few lapses but those are not system lapses that have happened but individuals while letting the clear protocols that have been adopted by the national vaccine operation center and the government.” ani WHO Country Representative Dr. Rabindra Abeyasinghe .

Samantala, inihayag naman ng WHO na may paparating na bakuna sa pilipinas galing sa covax facility sa buwan ng Hunyo.

Partikular na ang Two Million doses ng Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines at Two Million doses din ng AstraZeneca vaccines.

Gayunman, wala pang detalye sa partikular na petsa ng shipment.
