METRO MANILA – Matapos ang masusing pagsisiyasat sa 2020 general appropriations bill, nilagdaan na at tuluyan nang isinabatas ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte Kahapon (Jan. 6) ang pambansang pondo sa taong ito na nagkakahalaga ng P4.1-T

Isinagawa ito sa pamamagitan ng isang ceremonial signing sa Malacañang kung saan present din ang mga opisyal ng 2 kapulungan ng kongreso.

Ang P4.1-T national budget ang pinakamalaking pondong inaprubahan ng Philippine government sa kasaysayan at katumbas ng 19.5%  sa tinatayang Gross Domestic Product ng bansa. 12% ang itinaas nito sa P3.662-T na pondo noong 2019.

Pinakamalaki naman ang pondong inilaan sa Department of Education (DEPED) na may P692.6-B budget, sumunod ang Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) na may P581.7-B,
Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)  na may P241.6-B,
Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) na may P200.5-B at Department Of National Defense na may P192.1-B.

Pang-anim ang Department of Health (DOH), na sinundan ng Department of Transportation (DOTR), Agriculture, Judiciary at pang 10 ang Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).

Ibig sabihin, ang budget ng pamahalaan na may pinakamalaking pinaglalaanan ngayong taon ang social services sector o sektor na may kaugnayan sa Edukasyon, Kalusugan at Social Protection.

Sumunod ang economic services o pagpapaigting sa Infrastructure Development.

“Together let us ensure that every peso in the budget will never be used to support the selfish greed of the few but spend exclusively for the benefit of the filipino tax payers” ani Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.

Kinumpirma naman ni Budget Secretary Wendel Avisado na walang vetoed line items ang Punong Ehekutibo sa national budget ngayong taon.
