METRO MANILA – Nasa 600 Pinoy ang nagtatrabaho sa Erbil at Al Asad sa Iraq kung saan naroon ang US military base na pinasabog ng Iran Kahapon (Jan. 8).
Inaalam pa ng Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) kung may nasaktan sa mga ito sa insidente.
Ipinag-utos na rin ng ahensya ang mandatory evacuation sa lahat ng mga Pilipino sa Iran, Iraq at Lebanon.
Ayon kay Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III, sa Lunes (Jan. 13) aalis na ng bansa ang ilang opisyal ng pamahalaan na mangunguna sa repatration process.
Si POEA Administrator Bernard Olalia sa Lebanon, OWWA Administrator Hans Leo Cacdac sa Saudi at Kuwait at USEC. Arellano sa United Arab Emirates (UAE). May kasama rin silang rapid responSe team para sa rescue operation.
“They will bring with them the RRT or the rapid response team so that they could immediately brief our OFWs there of the situation and the action that our department together with the other department will take in order to ensure a well coordinated and safe repatriation of our OFWs” ani DOLE Secretary Silvestre Bello III.
Ayon sa DOLE nasa 2.1-M ang mga documented OFW sa Middles East. Ngunit wala pa silang hawak na datos sa mga hindi dokumentadong Pilipino doon.
Si Special Envoy to the Middle East Sec. Roy Cimatu pupunta na ngayong araw (Jan.9) sa Qatar para sa mandatory repatriation.
Base sa kanilang plano, lahat ng Pinoy na ililikas mula Iran at Iraq ay dadalhin muna sa embahada sa Baghdad.
Mula doon ay bibiyahe sila by land papunta sa Amman Jordan saka sasakay ng eroplano papunta sa Dubai saka lilipad papunta sa Pilipinas.
