METRO MANILA – Makikipag-ugnayan na ang pamahalaan ng Pilipinas sa mga bansang gumagamit ng Ivermectin bilang gamot panlaban sa COVID-19.
Ito ang pangako ni Health Secretary Francisco Duque III sa isinagawang pagdinig ng House Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability.
Pakiusap ng mga mambabatas na kung maaari ay ikonsidera ng DOH ang ginagawa ng mga bansang gaya ng Mexico, Czech Republic, Peru, Slovakia, Bolivia, Panama, Nicaragua, Egypt at maging ng India.
Bukod pa rito ang mga ginawang clinical trial ng mga experto sa buong mundo.
“Unang una po 2 na yung developed country na gumagamit nito meaning to say they are more advanced in terms of scientific study than the Philippine.” ani Vice Chairman, Committee on Good Gov’t and Public Accountability Rep. Eric Pineda.
“We will facilitate a closer, dipper more incisive review of the clinical trial studies and clinical trial data of other countries” ani Sec. Francisco Duque III.
Makikipagpulong din ang kalihim sa mga doktor na nagsusulong ng paggamit ng Ivermectin sa bansa gaya ng mga miyembro ng concerned doctors and citizens of the Philippine.
Pero ayon sa kalihim, hanggang sa ngayon ay hindi parin sapat ang ebidensya para masabing nakagagaling ito laban sa COVID-19.
“As of the last report to me, there still no strong evidence to support the use of Ivermectin either as a treatment and or prophelaxis” ani Sec. Francisco Duque III.
Hindi naman sarado ang gobyerno sa potensyal ng gamot katunayan ay ang pagbibigay ng compassionate special permit sa mga doktor at ospital sa bansa at compounding permit sa mga laboratory.
Sa Hulyo ay posibleng simulan na ang gagawing sariling clinical trial ng pilipinas sa pangunguna ng dost na tatagal ng 8 buwan.
“I am not assailing what the clinical trial results have been done in other countries but perhaps it will be prudent that with the directive of the president for the dost to conduct our own clinical trial on ivermectin, it would be prudent to give that clinical trial in the Philippines a chance to work and let’s look at the results will be” ani Sec. Francisco Duque III.
