Umaapela si Senate President Vicente Sotto III sa inter-agency task force na tanggalin na ang polisiya ukol sa 14- day mandatory quarantine sa mga biyaherong pumapasok sa Pilipinas, kung fully-vaccinated na ang mga ito laban sa Covid-19. Pero ayon Malacañang pag-uusapan pa ito pagpupulong ng Inter-Agency Task Force bago madesisyunan ang suhestyon ng senador.
Ayon kay Senate President Vicente Sotto III, mababalewala lamang ang layon ng pagpapabakuna kung kinakailangan pa ring sumailalim sa 14-day quarantine ang isang taong nakatanggap na ng dalawang doses nito.
“Earlier I called on IATF/DOH to remove the 14 day quarantine on fully vaccinated persons entering the Philippines as long as health standards are followed. Why do fully vaccinated people have to still do the two week quarantine when traveling to the Philippines? It doesn’t make sense! Defeats the purpose of vaccinating so we can open the economy. Vaccinated investors won’t come because they have to quarantine or even Filipinos who are vaccinated are having second thoughts,” ani Senate Pres. Sotto.
Wala pang opisyal na tugon ang Malacañang ukol sa apela ni senator Sotto. Pero sa isang text message kinumpirma ni Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque na kasama ito sa magiging agenda sa susunod na pagpupulong ng Inter Agency TaskForce.
