Dinismiss ng Korte Suprema ang petisyon na kumukwestyon sa pagpapalawig ng Commission on Elections sa deadline ng filing ng Statement of Contributions and Expenditures o SOCE.

Ito ay dahil sa kakulangan ng mahalagang dokumento upang matugunan ang petisyon

“The court dismissed the petition for certiorari (with application for status quo ante order or similar writs) dated June 20, 2016 because petitioners failed to attached a duplicate original or certified true copy of the assailed resolution along with the requisite number of copies required. Petitioners merely submitted news reports in lieu of the required copy of the assailed resolution. As petitioners failed to state the exact date of promulgation of the assailed resolution, the averments regarding the timeliness of the petition are also defective.” Pahayag ni Supreme Court Spokesperson Atty. Pinaalalahan pa ng Korte ang mga petitioner na hindi nila maaaring aksyonan ang isang petisyon na ang basehan lamang ay mga balita sa pahayagan.

Ang petisyon ay ini-hain ni Atty. Manuelito Luna at ng 1-Abilidad Partylist na sumali ngunit natalo sa nakaraang halalan.
