Naniniwala si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na papabor sa Pilipinas ang ilalabas na desisyon ng International Arbitration Court kaugnay ng West Philippine sea territorial dispute.

Sa kabila nito, handa rin naman aniya ang pamahalaan sakaling hindi pumabor sa bansa ang ilalabas na desisyon.

“When if it’s favorable to us, let’s talk. We are not prepared to go to war. War is a dirty word now, but we will proceed accordingly after we shall have the copy of the arbitral judgment.” Pahayag ni Pangulong Duterte

Inaasahang sa July 12 ilalabas na ng Permanent Court of Arbitration sa The Hague ang desisyon sa maritime case ng Pilipinas sa West Philippine sea issue.
