MANILA, Philippines – Tutol ang mga pharmaceutical companies na magtakda ng price cap sa mga gamot sa bansa.
Sa kauna-unahang public consultation ng Department of Health para sa binubuong Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) ng Maximum Retail Price Act, nanindigan ang Pharmaceutical and Health Care Association of the Philippines (PHAP) na posibleng maging hadlang ito sa pagpasok ng mga bagong gamot na galing sa ibang bansa.
“If they feel that the environment is such that it will be that price in such a way that you will be, price at a level which will not be competitive, then Philippines will become one of the last countries to receive the new medicines,” ani Teodoro Padilla, Executive Director, PHAP.
Tiniyak naman ng DOH na hindi makakaapekto ang ipatutupad na price cap sa kalidad ng mga gamot dahil lahat ng regulasyon mula sa paggawa ng mga ito ay dapat dumaan sa pagsusuri ng food and drugs administration.
