METRO MANILA – Kinumpirma ni Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Secretary Fortunato dela Peña na maganda ang naging resulta ng first phase trial ng paggamit ng anti-dengue capsules.
Dagdag pa ng kalihim, naghahanda na rin ang DOST at local medical startup company para i-launch ang nasabing breakthrough plant-based medicine ngayong taon.
“This is the first medicine that will be coming out for dengue,” ani DOST Secretary Dela Peña
Popondohan naman ng DOST-Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (PCHRD) ang Phase 2 clinical trials ng dengue medicine.
Magsisimula na rin ang DOST-Industrial Technology Development Institute sa pagtatayo ng Biosafety Level+2 facility.
Samantala, sinabi ni DOST Undersecretary for Research and Development Dr. Rowena Cristina Guevara na ang anti-dengue medicine ay na-develop mula sa extracts ng 3 herbal plants.
Batay sa kasalukuyang datos ng Department of Health, mula Enero hanggang Abril ay nasa 21,478 ang reported dengue cases sa bansa.
