METRO MANILA – Umabot na sa 119 ang naitatalang Covid-19 Delta variant sa Pilipinas.

Kahapon (July 25), 55 ang nadagdag na bagong kaso ayon sa ulat ng Department Of Health (DOH).

37 dito ay local cases o dito na sa bansa nahawa ng virus.

Nasa 72 na sa ngayon ang local Delta case.

“What we are seeing is continuing to be scary. We call delta the fastest and the fittest virus
it is three times more contagious than the original sars-cov-2 virus and it seems to be deadlier.” ani DOH Technical Advisory Group Member, Dr. Edsel Salvana.

Nangangamba ang mga eksperto na dahil mas mabagsik at mas mabilis makahawa ang Delta variant ay maapektuhan nito ang health system ng bansa.

”This will be worse if the healthcare system is overwhelmed. Patients also seem to get sicker and younger ages can also develop severe disease” ani DOH Technical Advisory Group Dr. Edsel Salvana.

Nagbigay na ng direktiba ang Inter Agency Task Force Against COVID-19 sa lahat ng mga ospital sa bansa na magdagdag na ng hospital beds, ICU capacity at isolation facilities.

“As per IATF Resolution 104, we are calling our hospitals to increase their covid-19 bed capacity to 30 percent for the private hospitals and 50 percent for the public hospitals to ensure that should a surge happen, we will have enough beds available” ani DOH Technical advisory group Member, Dr Anna Ong- Lim.

Inirerekomenda rin ng mga eksperto na kaagad na magpatupad ng granular lockdown sa mga lugar na may Delta variant.

“With implemented targeted response strategies, we hope to be able to reduce transmission at the same time, also reduce the economic strain of actually implementing these lockdowns” ani Member, DOH Technical Advisory Group Dr Anna Ong- Lim.

Nanawagang muli ang DOH na magpabakuna na. Lalo nat batay sa mga health care worker na nabakunahan na ay nakita nila na maganda ang naging resulta.

“We are getting these kinds of reports also from our other hospitals kung saan bumababa na po ang mga kaso na nagkakasakit na healthcare workers ngayon dahil most of them are fully vaccinated already
So, dito palang sa mga ganitong anecdotal reports and evidences, we can say vaccines really work. So, magpabakuna na po tayo lahat para tayo lahat ay protektado” ani DOH Spokesperson, Usec. Maria Rosario Vergeire.

As of july 18, 10.3 million na ang nakatanggap ng kanilang first dose ng covid-19 vaccine

Nasa 4.7 Million ang fully vaccinated

Target ng pamahalaan na mabakunahan ang nasa mahigit 50 milyong fully vaccinated na mga Pilipino sa katapusan ng taon upang maabot ang population protection
