METRO MANILA – Matapos pirmahan ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte nitong Hunyo ang Supreme Court (SC) ruling on the Mandanas-Garcia, magsasagawa ng series of orientations and workshops ang Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) sa mga lokal na pamahalaan bilang paghahanda sa full devolution next year.

Ang full devolution ay ang paglilipat ng basic services sa mga pamamahala ng mga LGU gayundin ang pamamahagi ng sapat na pondo sa mga lokal na pamahalaan mula sa national taxes.

Layunin ng workshops na matutukan ang mga Local Government Unit(LGU) sa paggawa at paghahanda ng kani-kanilang Devolution Transition Plans (DTPs) na magsisilbing pamantayan sa performance assessment ng mga lokal na pamahalaan alinsunod sa Executive Order (EO) No. 138.

“We will coach and guide LGUs every step of the way to ensure that they are ready for full devolution starting with their preparation of DTPs.” Ani DILG Secretary Eduardo M. Año.

Samantala, nagsimula na ngayong linggo ang regional orientations for DILG Provincial Devolution Core Teams (DCTs), Provincial Devolution Transition Committees (DTCs), City and Municipal DTCs upang talakayin ang prescribed components, processes, at mechanisms para sa preparasyon ng LGU DTPs.
