METRO MANILA – Mainit na tinanggap ng Philippine National Police (PNP) ang pagkakatalaga ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte kay Police Lieutenant General Dionardo Bernardo Carlos bilang bagong hepe ng Pambansang Pulisya na papalit kay PNP Chief Police General Guillermo Eleazar.

Sa isang pahayag ni PGen. Eleazar, hinimok niya ang nasa 222,000 pulis na magpakita ng suporta sa ilalim ng bagong liderato ni PLtGen. Carlos na pormal na uupo bilang ika-27 hepe nito sa Biyernes.

Si PLtGen. Carlos na isang alumnus ng Philippine Military Academy “Maringal” Class 1988 ay dating nasa 4th in command ng Pulisya bilang Chief of Directorial Staff sa ilalim ni PGen. Eleazar.

Nanilbihan siya sa mga matataas na posisyon bilang Director for Integrated Police Operations (DIPO) sa Visayas, Director for Community Relations (DPCR), Director for Information and Communication Technology Management (DICTM), Director ng Highway Patrol, Director ng Aviation Security Group, Regional Director ng Police Regional Office 8 sa Eastern Visayas; at Provincial Director ng Police Provincial Offices sa Negros Oriental at Quezon Province.

Nanilbihan rin siya bilang Hepe ng PNP Public Information Office at PNP Spokesperson sa National Headquarters at Hepe ng Regional PIO ng National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) at ginanap ang kaniyang katungkulan sa Center for Police Strategy Management (CPSM) at Office of the Chief PNP.

Bihasa siya sa special police operations partikular na sa crisis management at response, urban counter-revolutionary warfare, counter-hijacking, explosive ordnance disposal, VIP security at anti-terrorist operations.

Nakapagtapos siya ng 2 Master’s Degree in Management sa Asian Institute of Management (AIM) at Philippine Christian University (PCU).

Siya ay nakatatandang kapatid ni Rear Admiral Alberto B Carlos of the Philippine Navy at magulang sa 2 anak na si Samuel at Eliana Nicole.
