METRO MANILA – Wala pang inilalabas na listahan ang World Health Organization (WHO) kung anu-ano ang mga potensyal na bakuna kontra Covid-19 ang gagamitin para sa isasagawang solidarity trial sa mga bansa.

Pero ayon sa DOH, tiniyak ng WHO na magbibigay ito ng listahan ngayong buwan. Sa inisyal na impormasyon, mayroon na umanong mga ikinukonsiderang bakuna ang WHO para sa solidarity trial

“I think they are considering 3 to 4 vaccines na lang but we still need for them to announce it officially so that we can have official list ng mga bakuna.” ani DOH Spokesperson, Usec. Maria Rosario Vergeire.

Isasagawa ang solidarity trial sa 12 sites sa bansa at bawat isa rito ay nasa 150 hanggang 200 ang target participants.

Kakaunti lang iyan so it is not going to be an issue when it comes to warehousing, distribution because hindi iyan ganiyan kadami as what we envision it to be. Madami iyong bakuna kapag nag- procure na tayo.

Nakikipa-ugnayan na ang doh sa mga lgu para sa preparasyon ng isasagawang who solidarity trial sa Pilipinas.

Ayon naman kay Dr Socorro Escalante, coordinator of the essential medicines health technologies ng WHO, may mahigit sampung potensyal na bakuna ang pinagpilian ng WHO para sa naturang trial

Binigyang diin ng who na malurit ang pagpili sa mga potensyal na bakuna upang makasama sa trial gaya ng good qualitty, bisa at kung ligtas itong gamitin ng publiko

“There are 17 vaccines that are currently evaluated to potentially partcipate in the solidarity trial. WHO will have mechanism to publish which vaccines will go in who solidarity trial. In terms of the timeline though who has targeted that the pilot trial will be starting by the end-October. That the first results of pilot trial may be released by January. These are the very rough timelines that we have.”ani WHO Western Pacific Region Coordinator, Essential Medicines Health Technologies Dr Socorro Escalante .
