Winter storm has interrupted travel in parts of the U.S. over the weekend, prompting authorities to shut down some major highways and cancel some flights.

More than 150 flights in and out of Chicago’s O’Hare and midway airports were canceled as a cold front moves in.

Chicago is expected to receive at least six inches of snow today.

In Oregon, major sections of interstate 84 were closed.

Trucks and tractor trailers were backed up for miles due to slick and icy conditions along the highway.

The arrival of colder temperatures on Saturday across much of America is just the beginning of what meteorologists predict to be an unusually frigid December.
