The Taichung Weather Station recorded a high of 38.3 degrees celsius on Sunday, the highest temperature ever recorded in the city in October, the Central Weather Bureau said.
It was also the hottest temperature reading in all of Taiwan so far this month and the third highest October temperature reading in Taiwan’s history.
Taiwan’s all-time October high is 38.5 degrees, set in Taitung on October 10, 1994 and at the Cheng Kung Weather Station on the border between Hualien and Taitung Countries on October 6, 2007, respectively, according to the weather agency.
