METRO MANILA – Upang agarang magamit ang milyon-milyong doses ng bakuna na nasa stockpile ng pamahalaan at sa gitna ng banta ng Omicron variant, ngayong araw December 3, magsisimula ang pagkakaloob ng booster dose sa A4 priority group o economic frontliners at A5 o indigent population.

Inihayag ito ni Health Secretary Francisco Duque III kahapon (December 2).

“We will already start with the booster doses per FDA revisions of the Emergency Use Authorization of the vaccines, the FDA DG came up with the advisory the other night. This will be for A4, beyond A1,A2,A3 kasi tuloy-tuloy na ang 1,2,3, so dadagdag natin ang A4 at A5.” ani DOH Sec. Francisco Duque III.

Kabilang dito ang mga may edad 18 pataas na nakatanggap na ng kumpletong COVID-19 shots sa nakalipas na anim na buwan.

“The guidelines have been prepared by the public health services office of the DOH and the NVOC will look at the operational details so that they can implement or execute the booster dose policy, that’s were we are and that’s going to start this month. Ang mangyayari lang, they have to wait 6 months from the last dose, so hindi yan as in magbooster dose lahat ng Pilipino bukas, hindi ganun yan, mag-aantay tayo depende sa schedule ng ating last dose, at primary dose series yung 2-dose.” ani DOH Sec. Francisco Duque III.

Sa pagtuturok ng booster dose, may recommended booster dose combinations. Pwedeng ang tinatatawag na homologous o heterologous booster.

Ang homologous dose ay ang kaparehong brand ng bakuna ng first at second dose ng isang indibidwal.

Habang ang heterologous dose naman ay ibang brand ng bakuna sa natanggap na primary series ng isang indibidwal

May third dose combination na inirerekomenda ang mga eksperto sa mga nakatanggap ng Sinovac at kung nais ng ibang COVID-19 vaccine brand ay maaaring ipaturok ang AstraZeneca, Pfizer o Moderna

Pfizer o Moderna naman ang heterologous third dose ng mga fully vaccinated ng AstraZeneca.

Ang mga fully vaccinated ng Pfizer maaaring ang piliin bilang third dose ang AstraZeneca o Moderna.

AstraZeneca o Pfizer naman ang maaring third dose ng mga fully vaccinated ng Moderna.

Nguni’t ang mga fully vaccinated ng Gamaleya Sputnik V at Janssen ng at least 3 months pa lang hindi inirerekomenda ang homologous third dose kundi heterologous lamang na AstraZeneca, Pfizer o Moderna.

Noon lamang Lunes nang aprubahan ng Food and Drug Administration (FDA) ang administration ng booster doses para sa adult general population.
