The Israeli Communications Ministry announced the closure of local Al-jazeera offices on sunday. This after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accused the Qatar-based TV news broadcaster of incitement.
However, the shutdown is not likely to happen immediately, as several legal steps are required before the offices can be closed.
Communications Minister Ayoub Kara told a press conference he decided to take action against Al-jazeera because it “supports terror.”
Netanyahu congratulated Kara on his twitter account. He tweeted that the minister acted “on my instructions and took concrete steps to end Al-jazeera’s incitement” in Israel.
