A heavy snow hit the north of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in Northwest China on Tuesday.
Temperatures were down to negative 15 degrees celsius in many cities including Regional Capital Urumqi.
Continuous snow and icy conditions have caused traffic disruption in many regional highways.
More than 200 workers and 20 snow blowers have been deployed to clear the snow in the city of Fukang.
Another round of snow is expected to sweep the areas on Thursday.
